This is an oboe reed that is roughly scraped but not at all finished. It’s my Day One scrape, basically, You won’t like the way this plays right out of the box, but it’s a great start for those wanting to practice reed-making or to customize their own reed. I have removed the bark, clipped the reed open, and put in a long, thick tip and a semblance of windows. It vibrates and probably has a stiff, heavy crow. You can put it on a premium cork tube for just $4 more. The rest is up to you! (In the photo you see a blank, a Sort-of-Scraped reed, and a finished reed.
